Another Major Breakthrough - Localization of Ultra Low Temperature Butterfly Valves
Valves are one of the key equipment in LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving stations, and the large-diameter low-temperature butterfly valves like 14inch and above which required highly technical mainly rely on imports. On September 2nd, the reporter from Science and Technology Daily knew from the Construction Project Management Branch of China National Petroleum and Natural Gas Pipeline Network Group Co., Ltd that the company has jointly developed and successfully localized a full series of ultra-low temperature butterfly valves for LNG receiving stations (ranging from 8 inches to 46 inches), which have been applied in the company's new national major energy infrastructure project - Longkou LNG receiving station project.
It is understood that the normal operating temperature of the LNG receiving station is about -163 ℃, and the valves used mainly include low-temperature ball valves, low-temperature butterfly valves, low-temperature safety valves, etc. Among them, ultra-low temperature butterfly valves can be used as regulating valves and shut-off valves, with a design temperature of -196 ℃, and are the core key equipment on LNG receiving stations.
In April of this year, the 42 inch 150 pound and 28 inch 150 pound triple eccentric ultra-low temperature butterfly valves passed localization appraisal. The successful development of this equipment greatly reduced the investment and construction cycle of the receiving station. Compared with imported butterfly valves of the same specification and function, a single unit saved about 60% in cost and shortened the supply cycle by 40%. Only 16sets 42 inch butterfly valves in Longkou LNG Phase I project can save 20.8 million yuan in funds.
