Leakage Elimination Method For Butterfly Valves

The faults of butterfly valves include leakage at the packing area, loose packing gland, insufficient number of packing rings, failure of the packing due to prolonged use or improper storage, leakage between the valve body and butterfly plate sealing surfaces, dirt between the sealing surfaces, damage to the sealing surface, damage to the soft sealing ring, inflexible rotation of the valve stem, tight packing pressure, incorrect position of the packing gland, and seizure or damage between the valve stem and the valve stem bearing.

The troubleshooting methods for butterfly valves include leakage at the packing area and loose packing gland. The nuts on the packing gland can be evenly tightened; Insufficient number of packing rings, additional packing should be added. If the filler fails due to prolonged use or improper storage, it should be replaced with a new filler. There is dirt sandwiched between the sealing surfaces, which can be rinsed and eliminated. If the sealing surface is damaged, it should be re welded and processed. The soft sealing ring is damaged and can be replaced with a new one. If the packing pressure is too tight, the nut of the packing gland should be appropriately loosened. The position of the packing gland is not correct, causing the valve stem to jam. The nuts on the packing gland should be evenly tightened to restore the gland to its normal position. The valve stem and valve stem bearing have seizure or damage, which should be removed and eliminated.
